Where We come from
We have a rich heritage in New Zealand Architecture with the practice dating back to 1968 when the Partnership of Cook, Hitchcock & Sargisson was established by founding directors Marshal Cook, Terry Hitchcock, and Peter Sargisson. Simon Pirie our current director joined Cook Hitchcock & Sargisson as an architectural graduate in In 1986.
Simon Pirie completed his Architecture Degree at University of Auckland. To continue following a passion for quality design and architecture he then gained employment at Cook Hitchcock and Sargisson Architects Ltd.
In 2000, after 14 years of learning from the best in the field, Simon was invited to become a partner in the company and the practice then became known as Cook Sargisson and Pirie Architects Ltd. In 2015 the founding partners retired and the practice is now known as Simon Pirie Architects Ltd.

After the Retirement of Terry Hitchcock in 2000 Simon Pirie was asked to become a director and the practice became Cook Sargisson & Pirie Ltd, maintaining our commitment to creating exceptional architectural design in New Zealand and beyond. Our practice is based on the belief that each project is unique and has its context in time and place. Therefore, we approach each project with creativity and dedication, ensuring that the final design meets the specific needs and requirements of our clients.
